When the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Exposition, also known as the AHR Expo, roles around every year, our company pays close attention. We are Dent Air Conditioning, a group of HVAC contractors located in Jackson, Mississippi. Although our HVAC contractors were not able to attend this year’s AHR Expo held in Chicago, we paid close attention to the reports that came from it. As we expected, the general themes at the 2012 AHR Expo included energy efficiency, environmental concerns, the demand for lowered costs and the desire by air conditioning customers to have more control over their systems.
The 2012 AHR Expo was the best attended yet. There were more than 60,000 HVAC contractors, scientists, engineers, manufacturers, business owners, homeowners and others interested in developments in this field. Several manufacturers and engineers were able to unveil new air conditioners that are the most energy efficient models on the market today. With Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratings (SEER) numbers up to 25, the newest models of air conditioners are nearly twice as energy efficient as they were just 10 years ago. We also heard about new air conditioning technology, such as ductless installation, remote control access and much more.
Like many businesses in the Jackson area, Dent Air Conditioning is doing everything it can to help reduce environmental decline. Whenever possible, we use the refrigerant gas Puron, a synthetic alternative to Freon that does not affect the earth’s ozone layers. We also encourage customers to look at energy efficiency ratings before purchasing a new air conditioner or heating system. The HVAC contractors at our air conditioning company feel this is one of the best ways to control operating costs over the entire life span of your equipment. Another thing we encourage is to get an energy audit to see exactly where your home stands.
